baroque chasuble

During a previous restoration, these sticks were transferred from a chasuble in bass violin cut to a chasuble in today's cut. In order to compensate the difference in length between the cuts, a piece was added to the front rod. At the cross bar on the back, the evangelistic representations of the cross bar were cut off and attached at the bottom for extension. The bars were transferred to a synthetic brocade.

The intention now was to return to the original bass violin cut. For this purpose, the bars were completely cut off and the non-original rim was removed. The entire embroidery was checked, secured and supplemented. The evangelist medallions that were removed were placed on the goldliston and the original cross staff restored. Finally, the sticks were placed on a new chasuble in contemporary damask in bass violin cut and lined with cotton satin.
