The gilding of this 800 silver chalice with hammer blow was badly damaged and oxidized. After consultation with the responsible monument preservation authorities, the following restoration measures were carried out:

The chalice was initially completely dismantled. All parts were electrolytically cleaned, wet-scratched, stained, wet-scratched and finally sanded and polished. The linkage was straightened and revised. The entire chalice was given a new 24-carat hard gloss gold plating and was re-assembled.
