Dry cleaning and repair of paraments<\/h2>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Paraments are made of high quality fabrics in most cases. They need special care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every chasuble for example is cleaned separate to protect the embroideries and fabrics. To keep the exposure low the textiles won\u2019t be spinned just slightly moved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some stains cannot be removed with the normal cleaning process and require special treatment, which is partially carried out. It is possible that some impurities can no longer be removed. These have usually been in the fabric for too long or they have already been treated incorrectly and have thus been fixed (very often with ironed out wax stains).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

Repair<\/h2>\n

After the cleaning, the paraments are getting looked up, checked and repaired.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following tasks belong to this process:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • correction and stapling of linen<\/span><\/li>\n
  • set in of new neck slips to remove worn borders<\/span><\/li>\n
  • insert new collars and zippers<\/span><\/li>\n
  • remove of collars and zippers<\/span><\/li>\n
  • shorten seams to remove worn fibers<\/span><\/li>\n
  • secure and complete embroideries and applications<\/span><\/li>\n
  • rework seams<\/span><\/li>\n
  • etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The required works are calculated according to the effort. To calculate this costs before the cleaning process is difficult, because some damages only become visible after cleaning.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In the most cases the effort is worthwile, because the paraments are of high quality. If the effort doesn\u2019t make sense we point this out.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Mistreated paraments<\/h2>\n

    This white chasuble has been damaged while washing it in the washing machine. The applications shrinked and the hand stitched japan gold was destroyed. The silk shrinked and lost its shine and finish.<\/span><\/p>\n

    In the cleaning process the fabric was equipped with new finish and lotus fabric protection. The destroyed japan gold was removed and renewed by hand. The applications were smoothend best possible. Finally the chasuble was lined with new silk linen. The most valuable chasuble of the parish is now nearly reset to the state of origin.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
